Cheerios!

Emma tried her hand at cheerios a few days ago! It was fascinating to watch her brain process how to pick up a cheerio, bring it to her mouth and then let go.  She had never needed to use her pincher grasp on something so small!

About 80% of the cheerios went on the floor but the ones she was able to eat she really enjoyed!  Each day she is getting much better... perhaps only 60% of them went on the floor today!

This week Emma went to the gym with me for a "mommy and baby" class.  I think she prefers other social get togethers and unfortunately one of our favorites conflicts with this class.

Lastly, I feel like Emma should be the spokes baby for Sophie the Giraffe! She squeaks her Sophie all over Boston.

Week of few pictures :(

Sorry for a gap in posts - we have not been very good about pictures this past week.  Emma's cold was short lived, thank goodness! Scooters class last Wednesday was again so much fun.  It's an hour long class packed with lots of songs, books, and "developmental playing".  Emma really likes her eight new friends.  We also have been grateful for late afternoon walks on Thursdays with our Beacon Hill friends, Grace and William, that we have started since their moms have gone back to work.  Last Friday we attended a weekly infant/toddler sing along at the Boston Public Library - Emma and I were really impressed with the song selections! Here is Emma with her music shaker :)

On Saturday we had a fun time catching up with some of our Great Beginnings friends during brunch.  The kiddos are certainly growing!  We have put a halloween party on the calendar...you can count on pictures!

While Patrick worked some this weekend, Emma and I ventured over to the fountains by Symphony Hall.  This girl really loves water!

Boston Children's Museum

Last Friday night we tested out the Boston Children's Museum.  Target sponsors $1 Friday night entrance fees - cannot beat the price! We really went to check out the infant/toddler room so we didn't get a chance to see the entire place but from what we saw it looks like loads of fun for all ages.

Here we are in one of the older kids rooms learning about shadows...

and dams.

Here we are located in the infant room where it is 95% padded for our protection!

They had a baby water bed!  Emma thinks she needs one!

Much to our surprise they had a pajama party in the infant/toddler room!  We sang songs, read a book, played with the parachute (one of Emma's MOST favorite activities), and played the drums.  I think we will have to make this a weekly routine!

On Saturday we went back to Clery's to cheer on the Hawkeyes!  It was a much smaller turnout (which Emma appreciated) but we still enjoyed the Hawkeye victory.  Emma sat and played for almost the entire first half! And please note her sippy cup!

Last week we had another friend over for a play date! Our friend Clara from Great Beginnings came over while her mom went to the dentist.  We love play dates!

Some sad news...  Emma has her first ever illness - an ugly virus :( Yesterday she was pretty miserable but today she is doing better.  In the meantime we are enjoying some pajama days!

Go Hawks!

Emma joined the gang this year at the Iowa Hawkeye game watches! She had a great time hanging out with everyone cheering on the hawks.  It was the loudest party she has attended and she lasted until about the 4th quarter of the Iowa vs Iowa State game.

We also found a new activity at the playground!  It's really opening up the options now that Emma can sit up :)

She loved zipping around the playground- thank goodness both her parents were with her to take turns giving her a push.

Better clear the road- verooom!

Emma is a natural Bostonian with one hand on the horn- eeks!
